Introduction
Your privacy matters. This page explains what information Chakrabam may collect, why we use it, and the choices you have.
Chakrabam is an independent Nepali editorial platform for conversations Nepal often has privately but rarely has publicly. This policy applies to the Chakrabam website and explains the website as it is currently implemented. It is not a promise about features that have not yet been built.
Information We Collect
We keep collection limited to what is needed to operate and understand the site. The site does not currently have user accounts, a sign-in system, a database-backed publishing workflow, or a payment system.
Information Users Provide
You may type information into the contact, story, answer, or other submission forms. This can include your message, story, opinion, question, and anything else you choose to include. The contact form also asks for an email address and subject.
When you submit a form, the information is sent to Formspree, the form-delivery service used by Chakrabam, so it can be delivered to us. Do not include sensitive information unless you are comfortable doing so. Formspree has its own privacy practices.
Anonymous Submissions
Some prompts describe responses as anonymous. In the current implementation, no account is required and the form does not ask for a name or contact detail. “Anonymous” does not mean that absolute anonymity is guaranteed: ordinary web requests may be visible to infrastructure providers, and information you include in the text may identify you. Avoid names, exact addresses, phone numbers, or other identifying details when they are not necessary.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit a website, hosting and network systems may receive routine technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, and timestamps. Chakrabam does not add a separate application database for this information, but service providers may process it as part of delivering and protecting the site.
How We Use Information
We use information you enter to provide the interaction you requested, such as showing validation or a submission confirmation; to remember your language preference; to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; and to understand broad usage through the analytics described below.
We do not use submitted text for targeted advertising. Chakrabam does not sell personal information.
Analytics
The production site includes Vercel Analytics. It is used to understand site traffic and performance. Vercel may process technical usage information under its own terms and privacy policy. Chakrabam does not control Vercel’s processing, so please review Vercel’s documentation for current details.
Stories may also display an aggregate public view count. When configured, the counter stores only a number for a story identifier in a server-side Redis-compatible store. The browser uses a short session cooldown to avoid counting ordinary refreshes repeatedly; it does not send names, email addresses, precise location, or a fingerprint for this purpose. Automated requests identified by their user-agent are not counted where reasonably detectable.
Third-Party Services and External Links
The site is hosted and delivered using third-party infrastructure, and some build-time content translation may call Google Translate when a translation API key is configured. These providers have their own privacy practices.
Chakrabam links to Facebook, X, email, and other external websites. External websites have their own privacy policies and terms. We are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.
Data Retention
Form submissions are handled and retained according to Formspree’s service and privacy practices, and may also be retained in Chakrabam’s email or editorial records when delivered to us. Browser data such as the language cookie remains until it expires or you remove it. Hosting and analytics providers may retain technical records under their own policies and settings.
Data Security
We use the security features provided by the website framework, hosting platform, and service providers. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, financial information, or details that could put you or someone else at risk through an open form.
User Rights and Choices
You can choose not to submit information, clear or block cookies, and use browser controls to limit analytics or external services where those controls are available. You may contact us about a privacy question or information you submitted through a form. Requests may need to be coordinated with Formspree where it processed the submission.
Children's Privacy
Chakrabam is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or provide personal information. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, contact us so we can review the situation.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when the website, services, or data practices change. The “Last updated” date will show when the latest version was published. Please check this page periodically.

Social Media and Sharing
Article sharing links open Facebook or X in a new page, and email links open your mail application. Those services may receive information according to their own policies. Copying a link does not send the link to Chakrabam.
