Introduction
These Terms explain the rules for using Chakrabam, including reading, sharing, submitting, and interacting with content on the platform.
Chakrabam is an independent Nepali editorial platform for conversations Nepal often has privately but rarely has publicly. By using the website, you agree to follow these Terms.
Acceptance of These Terms
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use Chakrabam. Your continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
Who May Use Chakrabam
You may use Chakrabam if you can legally agree to these Terms under the laws that apply to you. The website is not designed to collect accounts or registrations from children.
Purpose of the Platform
Chakrabam makes room for thoughtful public conversation about sensitive, personal, cultural, social, and uncomfortable subjects. Publication of a story, opinion, submission, or discussion does not necessarily mean Chakrabam endorses the views expressed. User opinions should not be confused with Chakrabam’s own editorial position.
User Submissions
You may submit a story, topic, answer, opinion, correction, feedback, or other material through our forms. Form submissions are sent through Formspree for delivery to Chakrabam. Only submit material you created or have the legal right to share. You remain responsible for what you submit, including its accuracy, legality, and impact on others.
The current forms do not create a public publishing workflow or guarantee that a submission will be reviewed or published. If Chakrabam receives a submission for editorial consideration, these Terms describe the permission and responsibilities that apply to it.
Anonymous Submissions
A submission may be presented publicly without your name. “Anonymous” primarily describes public presentation; it is not a guarantee of absolute anonymity. Do not include details that could identify you or another person unless necessary and safe to publish.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for reviewing your submission, protecting other people’s privacy, obtaining permission where needed, and ensuring your use of Chakrabam does not put anyone at unreasonable risk. Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship with Chakrabam.
Acceptable Use
Use Chakrabam to read, discuss, share, and contribute in good faith. You may disagree strongly, but discussion should respect people’s dignity, safety, and ability to participate without targeted abuse.
Prohibited Content and Conduct
Do not submit or promote harassment, threats, hate speech, unlawful content, spam, scams, deliberate misinformation, impersonation, privacy violations, copyright infringement, sexual exploitation, or attempts to expose another person’s private information. Do not interfere with the website, bypass security, or burden the service with automated activity.
Editorial Rights
Chakrabam may exercise editorial judgment about what it publishes and how it presents material. We may review, fact-check, edit, format, translate, excerpt, contextualize, delay, or decline material. Publication is not a promise that a submission is complete, verified, or endorsed.
Content Moderation
We may moderate content to protect participants, improve clarity, follow editorial standards, and reduce legal or safety risks. Decisions may consider context, repetition, credibility, privacy, and potential harm.
Removal or Refusal of Content
Chakrabam may reject, edit, unpublish, restrict, or remove content where appropriate, including when it breaches these Terms, creates a safety or privacy concern, infringes rights, or no longer meets editorial standards. We may not provide an individual explanation for every decision.
Intellectual Property
Chakrabam’s name, logos, design, original editorial work, and other site materials belong to Chakrabam or their respective rights holders. You may read and share links for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not copy, republish, scrape, modify, or commercially exploit site materials without permission, except where law allows.
Ownership of User-Submitted Content
You keep ownership of content you submit, unless you separately agree otherwise with Chakrabam. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit it and grant the permission described below.
Permission to Publish Submissions
By submitting material for consideration, you give Chakrabam a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to review, edit, format, translate, excerpt, publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and promote it in connection with Chakrabam, in any media used by the platform.
This permission enables responsible editorial use; it does not transfer ownership of your work. We may identify you when you ask us to or when the agreed format requires it, but we do not promise publication.
Quoting, Sharing and Referencing Chakrabam Content
You may link to Chakrabam and share reasonable excerpts with clear attribution and a link to the original page. Do not present Chakrabam’s work as your own, remove attribution, or imply approval that Chakrabam has not given.
Third-Party Links and Services
Chakrabam links to external services such as Facebook, X, email, hosting, analytics, and other websites. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control or take responsibility for their content, availability, security, or data handling.
Accuracy of Information
We work to publish responsible material, but errors, omissions, outdated information, and differences of opinion can occur. Content may reflect a contributor’s account or view rather than an established fact. Tell us about a possible correction through the Contact page.
No Professional Advice
Chakrabam content is for general information and conversation. It is not medical, legal, financial, mental-health, safety, or other professional advice. Seek qualified help for decisions that affect you or someone else.
Platform Availability
We may change, pause, or discontinue part of the website, and content may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Chakrabam is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that the website or every piece of content will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, current, or suitable for every purpose.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Chakrabam and the people who help operate it will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or its content. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to reasonably cooperate with and protect Chakrabam from claims, losses, or costs arising from your unlawful use of the website, breach of these Terms, or submitted content. This does not require you to cover losses caused by Chakrabam’s own unlawful conduct.
Changes to the Platform
We may add, remove, or change features, content, or submission methods as Chakrabam develops. These Terms apply to the version of the platform you use at the time.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when the platform, editorial practice, or applicable requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and make a reasonable effort to highlight important changes.
Termination / Restriction of Access
We may restrict or end access to the website, or decline future submissions, where reasonably needed to protect the platform, its participants, or our editorial work. You may stop using Chakrabam at any time.
Governing Law
These Terms are intended to be interpreted under the applicable laws of Nepal, without promising that every dispute must be brought in a particular court. Raise any dispute with us first so we can try to resolve it reasonably.
